Yes, you do. Acceptable forms of identification are a current valid passport or full driving licence. You will also need to bring proof of address, e.g. recent utility bill (not more than three months old) or a local authority tax bill (from the current billing year).
You may wish to bring a padlock to secure your own unit (however, we do stock a range of padlocks so these can be purchased on-site).

You are welcome to store most things in our storage units. However, for obvious reasons, we are unable to accept the following items:
Please refer to our storage estimator
Our minimum self storage rental period is four weeks, we do not have a maximum storage duration. It should be noted that our most competitive rates are offered for long-term usage of our units.
Should you wish to terminate your storage agreement with HD1, we require seven days' notice. We only accept notice in writing, via letter, email or fax.
Upon termination, any deposit held will be refunded, less any sums held back for rent, damage, cleaning costs if your storage room is left dirty, or any rubbish removal or late notice charges.
This is dependent on the unit size and duration of use. To make a no-obligation enquiry, you can fill in our quote form, book over the telephone, or in person.
When you first rent your room, we require a deposit equivalent to four weeks' rent (to cover us against damage or default), and also payment to the end of the calendar month (subsequent payments are taken at the beginning of the month.
Initial payment can be made by credit (MasterCard or Visa) or debit (Maestro or Switch) card. The deposit is refundable on departure, subject to any retention for damage, and/or failure to give the required notice. Subsequent payments must be made, or are collected automatically, in advance. Automatic payments can be made by credit or debit card, or by direct debit. Payments made by direct debit are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee Scheme.
Most definitely! We insist that all customers' self storage items are fully insured while they are stored with us. This is in order to give you complete peace of mind; not only are your things stored safely and securely, but, if the worse should happen, you don't suffer any financial loss. HD1 Secure Self Storage offers it's own insurance policy - please ask us for further details.
If however, your existing household or business insurance policy covers your goods while in storage, we will need to see a copy of a valid insurance schedule.
Our terms and conditions are approved by the UK Self Storage Association. Please click here for a full version of our current terms and conditions.
Rooms are accessible during our opening hours. During these hours, the main gates to the car park are open. Your unit is padlocked, and you have the only key. When you leave your unit, you must re-secure the padlock.
We have a range of handling equipment at your disposal to assist you in moving your goods and belongings to and from your storage unit.
HD1 is fully staffed during opening hours, and also operates 24-hour CCTV.
